Atte Jääskeläinen joined the YLE News as an Executive Editor in 2007 and he was appointed Director of News on June 1, 2007. From 2004 – 2006, he served as Managing Director and Editor-in Chief of the Finnish News Agency STT. He has worked in different positions in Helsingin Sanomat, the leading daily newspaper in Finland for 10 years; as a Senior Political editor in 2001 – 2004, a Senior Business and Economic editor 1995 – 2001 and as a Journalist 1990 – 1995. He began his career as Junior judge at the City Court of Helsinki in 1993.
